Steele, from
Fort Worth, is an honor graduate of
University of North Texas in Denton where he majored in Art and
Design. He also attended
Pasadena City College,
Los Angeles and the University of Washington.
He has spent most of his career in the advertising Industry as an art
director, design director and creative director with agencies and
corporations throughout the country. Steele has also held teaching
positions at Northwest College of Art and Texas State Technical College.
The primary focus of his creative energy now is producing paintings and
mixed media works.
Michael has held creative
posts and exhibited in galleries in
Fort Worth, Denton, Dallas, Austin,
Bainbridge Island, WA,
Bellevue, WA,
Seattle, WA,
San Francisco, CA,
Waco. He has won numerous awards for his design and art work from
Communication Arts, Graphis,
Seattle Times, Austin Weekly, and many local and national ad
clubs.
Steele's current work features his intense "Southwestern" color palette
and combinations of media such as: watercolor, acrylic, graphite, colored
pencil, pen & ink, pastel and collage.
