Creating art in various forms for the last forty years has been my
greatest joy. Educational background ranges from studies in Art and
Performance at UT at Dallas and graduate studies in Fine Arts at TWU to
Theology at Perkins, SMU and Art Therapy with Ruth Borenstein. I have
shown my art in numerous exhibitions and galleries of East Texas and in
the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex. While the latest series have been in
acrylic, I have also worked in photography, digital art, mosaics,
traditional oil and watercolor, as well as mixed media wall hangings in
textile. The point, for me, isn’t about what medium is used but the
creating process itself.
This body of work is called "Water Meditations:
Focusing Below the Surface," in acrylic on canvas and photography. The
symbolism of water has a universal undertone of
purity and fertility –
cleansing and creating. It is often viewed as the source of life itself
as we see evidence in countless creation myths in which life emerges
from primordial waters. The concept that water takes on the form in
which it is held and moves in the path of least resistance speaks of a
higher wisdom many aspire to
mimic.
Water is Transformation, Subconscious, Fertilization, Purification,
Reflection, Intuition, Renewal, Blessing, Motion and Life
