I
started getting serious about art as more than a past time when I was a
young girl of about 19.
The mediums I have worked in include acrylic paints, pencil drawings,
fiberglass, wood scroll work and carving, soldering and welding, marble
mosaics, and my favorite, stained and fused glass, as well as painting on
glass in the style which the masters of old did.
I got started in Stained Glass artistry in the year 2002. After practicing
for a year on small things we felt we were ready to get our feet wet on
something larger.
My first commission came from Faith Lutheran Church in Corsicana, Texas,
where I live, and in which my husband and I are members. We built seven
windows for the sanctuary and five windows that adorn the front entrance
of the church.
My next commission was for a quaint old Church of God in Teague, Texas,
where we built one window and hope to do more for them in the future as
funds become available.
In February of 2006 I was commissioned to build 6 windows for the
sanctuary of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Centerville, Texas.
I have also been commissioned to build various windows for individual
homes in Corsicana, and around Richland Chambers Lake. |
| I have shown my work in the
22nd annual National Juried Art Exhibition held at the Warehouse Loving
Arts Center in Corsicana last summer, in which I was one of six artists
from Navarro County chosen for the show. I also entered a piece in the
Corsicana Local Artists show that is held every year in mid-August at the
Warehouse Living Arts Center at the corner of Main St. and 6th Ave.My work
is currently for sale in Corsicana at, “The Art Spot” on Beaton St.”,
“Corsicana Tee’s” on Beaton St.“Higher Grounds Café” on 15th St.”, and
“D’s Pipes” on 15th St. I am happy to discuss a commissioned work of art
using your design or my design. If you can imagine what you would like, I
can build it. |
